Welcome to STAR rpg!

A feature rich fantasy ruleset inspired by Frieren anime.

Why?

I decided to write STAR when trying to play TTRPG with my kids. After years away from RPG I decided to give DND a chance, but the lack of active defense and the simplistic combat made me quickly give up and try GURPS, since I played that a lot when younger. After creating equipment tables, looking for rules in different books, I gave up on the high fantasy magic system. The ruleset was simply too complex and dense, I needed something that allowed me the combat flexibility but that was simple enough for kids to play. Also I needed a new magic system, and for that I got my inspiration from Frieren, which has an inspiring and clever magical system. 

What's different?

Star offers several combat actions like knock down, move and attack, aim, full defense, hit specific body parts and much more. Also offers an active defense system including evasion, parry, block and even arcane shields, plus a rich armor system with coverage and absorption while elegantly handles race and size differences. All that with a single attack roll!

Count with complete equipment tables, treasure tables, funny and deep psychological traits, simple progression mechanics, mana based magic system and rich character creation options, to go as in depth or as shallow as you want to.

This is a passion project and I'd really love anyone to test, review, suggest and contribute to it.

I'm also one of the creators of Role Music Player, or RMP, a free ambient and music platform for RPG adventures. Download for PC on STEAM.

Roadmap

Next steps for now are, fix any errors the community may find, improve on any disparities or imbalances found.
